BR Design offers years of industry experience with the installation, servicing and testing of a wide range of Advance Detection systems such as VESDA Air Aspiration, Beam Detection and Flame Detection.
Often design engineers face challenges in applying standard fire detection principals to spaces and equipment such as server rooms with high air movement, self contained air conditioning units, gymnasiums and auditoriums, and institutional detention units. Although these areas provide design challenges, they often contain high value or critical equipment, or contain a group of patients or inmates that present safety and security challenges to quickly evacuate. With this in mind it is critical that the type of Advance Detection used provides early warning detection of the presence of a fire to allow for safe equipment shutdowns and evacuation of occupants.
BR Design offers a wide range of Advanced Detection system design and project support services:
- Complete system design for new construction design builds.
- Consultation with clients on advanced detection methods specifically designed for early-warning asset protection of mission-critical equipment. Using products such as VESDA Air Aspiration smoke detection.
- Consultation on connection to Fire Suppression systems. Click here for more information on Fire Suppression Detection services BR Design has to offer.
- Assistance in formulating a National Building Code of Canada 2015 (NBC) Alternative Solution when AHJ approval is required for the chosen method of Advanced Detection.
- On site consolation with installing contractors to review required codes, wiring methods and installation practices to ensure a cost-efficient installation that will also reduce final verification time.
- Complete system design for retrofit applications. Including on site system investigating and documenting to ensure clients are properly prepared prior to the retrofit. As well as on site support during retrofit if needed.
- Supply of contractor detail drawing packages including riser diagrams, device termination details and sequence of operations that may be required as part of a shop drawing submittal or if the client desires a cost-efficient installation and verification.
